Q & A
Grape to Glass Wine Tasting Experience
Do I need to make a booking?
The Tasting Shed is an intimate venue with limited capacity so bookings are highly recommended to ensure we can provide the best experience. You can make a booking online for up to 6 guests, or email us for larger group enquiries hello@hartofthebarossa.com.au
What are your opening hours?
The Tasting Shed is open for our farmgate grape to glass wine tasting experience from 10:30am until 4:30pm Thursday-Monday, with last tasting at 3.30pm.
Are you open on Public Holidays?
Our Tasting Shed is closed on all South Australian Public Holidays
Why can I only book for up to 6 people online?
Our rustic Tasting Shed is small and quaint and we have limited staff so we cap our group size at 6 people. If you are in a larger group and would like to visit us for a wine tasting, we can offer private tastings in our Glass Room by arrangement.
For weekday visits, please contact us as we may be able to offer more flexibility.
How do your group bookings work?
We can offer private tastings in our Glass Room by arrangement. We require credit card details to secure the booking and the full fee is processed to this card on the morning of your booking. This fee is not redeemable on purchase or refundable if your numbers change after your final confirmation.
The online booking says there are no spots available. Why is this?
Online bookings are available up to 24 hours in advance for wine flights and casual visits and 7 days for a group tasting. There may also be no vacancies if we have a large number of bookings arriving at the same time or if we are closed. You can call our Tasting Shed during business hours to help you find a suitable time.
Is the cost of my flight redeemable on purchases?
Our Grape to Glass Wine Tasting experience is $20pp and is redeemable on purchase. A private Wine Tasting experience is privately hosted and not redeemable on purchase. Our wine tasting includes 6 wines and either a Fortified or Gin tasting and is hosted by our knowledgeable Tasting Room team, including the owners, who will guide you through each wine and provide a high level of interaction and engagement.
Do you have a restaurant on-site?
What we do best is produce premium organic wine and we don’t have a restaurant but we can certainly recommend many of our favourites venues to dine. We do offer our famous Long Lunch on the second Friday of the month offering our Five Course Degustation paired with our wines – Pure Barossan Indulgence.
Is the tasting room family-friendly?
Children are welcome at our cellar door. However, our rustic Tasting Shed has limited capacity and Hart of the Barossa is a working property. For everyone’s safety, we kindly ask that children remain under close supervision at all times.
Is the Tasting Shed dog-friendly?
We welcome dog visitors to our Tasting Shed for alfresco wine tasting. We do ask that you let us know in your booking notes if you will be bringing your dog and that they remain on a leash while on site as we our resident wine dog, friendly chickens and the occasional kangaroo who free-range on the working property.
